Article: Million and One Guinness world record Attempt

Million and One Guinness world record Attempt

On the 29th July at 7pm an attempt to break the existing Guinness World Record for completing 1,000,001 taking the least number of darts will be made.

This event has been inspired by Darren Mawer. in August 2010 Darren and his Family flew to Turkey for a short family holiday, during the journey Darren suffered a Brain Hemorrhage, and was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery, over the next 5 weeks nobody knew if Darren would survive, thankfully he came through the dangerous time after the operations and they were able to fly him back to the UK .

Darren spent several weeks under the care of the NHS in Grimsby before he was able to be assessed and allocated a place at the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust (BIRT) at Goole. When he went to the BIRT he was unable to walk and had no use of his left arm, however, 12 weeks later he was able to walk into the local school hall to watch his little girl in the Christmas play.

We are raising money as a thank you to the BIRT for the fantastic work they did and are doing for Darren, his family and all of the other people that are in desperate need of their services. They have already made a massive difference to the quality of life for the Mawer family and families throughout the country.
