The 3rd Red Dragon Darts Masters of 2017 took place this weekend AT Riley's in Sheffield and it was very eventful, as experience and youth met on the Oche with players as young as 7 years old taking part, again proving what real grass roots is. 1st Round ANGELA BRITTLE 3-4 JON SMETHURST Angie pushed drum and bass all the way. TIM CLOSE 4-2 JAKE RHODES 101 checkout for Close and a 15 dart leg to finish the game against a very talented youth star. GARETH BAXTER 1-4 BRIAN LEWIS 18, 19 dart legs for the SDM 1 champion. ELLIS TURNER 1-4 BOB LAMB JOHN KIRK 4-3 JAMIE BARRINGTON ANTONIO CRUZ 4-3 LAURA TAYLOR Taylor pushed Cruz, but a maximum at the right time helped the Chilean champion. EVAN HENDRY 4-3 LEWIS JIGGINGS A classic youth encounter went to 7yo Evan Hendry in a close contest. MARK GURRAN 3-4 LESTER BOWERS Lester with a 105 when needed as both franchise players battled out a terrific match. BOB LAMB 4-0 STEVE THOMPSON Bob Lamb continued to impress. STEVE MEEK 4-1 IAN HENDRY DAVE WILSON 4-2 TOM WRIGHT Wilson again smashed in 2x 180s in a close game. MARTIN SOMMERTON 4-0 BOB PINDER Martin had 100% on double every time Bob gave him a chance. LEE CUSHWORTH 2-4 BEN DULLEY Cushy with a maximum in leg 2 but decisive finishing from Ben got him into the last 8.   4th Round RYAN GOFFIN 4-1 BOB LAMB LESTER BOWERS 4-1 LUKE ORMAN 3x 180s shared between the players with two for Big Red. STEVE MEEK 2-4 DAVE WILSON Meek with 18&20 dart legs but a 14&15 with 180s 6&7 for the day for Wilson was an amazing game. LESTER BOWERS 2-4 RYAN GOFFIN The all WDL clash was a gem of a game with a maximum each and a terrific spell of 5 legs under 20 darts. Final DAVE WILSON 4-2 RYAN GOFFIN Dave Wilson took his 1st SDM title defeating Goffin who has now been r/up in the last 2,Maximums each and a very nice 14 dart leg to finish the game off,Tremendous game of darts and tremendous performance by Dave Wilson from Yorkshire.
