The last month has been all about knockouts and league finals and in the latest of the Riley’s, Solihull Last Sunday in the Month Knockouts    Neil Parsonage add yet another title to his ever increasing list. In the previous competition Parsonage squared up to Mike McFall in the final and finished on the wrong side of a 6-3 result but on this occasion he went one step further to clinch the title with a final win over Tom White.

Parsonage was in top form throughout hitting a maximum and beating Terry Webster 5-2 in the semi’s while from the other half of the draw Tom White accounted for Pete Shipley with a 5-0 scoreline. Both players hit a maximum in the final but it was Parsonage who got the 6-4 verdict and the winner’s top prize of £110, White collecting £70 as runner up.
Both Shipley and Webster each received £20 as losing semi finalists.
In the Plate competition last month’s winner Jake Webster made it to the final yet again but on this occasion he came up against an in form Luis Barberan who with a 180 and 120 checkout took the winners £25 with a 4-0 result, Webster received £15.

At another Riley’s Sports Bar in Coventry Warwickshire County player Tom Ryan increased his bank balance when from a very strong starting lineup he won the Riley’s, Coventry Open Knockout. Tom was in top form throughout the competition beating Kevin Bambrick 5-4 in the semi finals while his final opponent PDC player Jay Foreman took out Dean Sanders to book his final spot.

The final went the full eleven legs distance with Ryan just getting the edge with a 6-5 verdict to clinch the top prize of £160, as runner up Foreman collected £80
Craig Allen was the winner of the Plate Competition for which he received £25 and the £11 for the runner up went to Adam Smith-Neale.

Congratulations to Crown ‘A’ who with three weeks to spare won the West Midlands Men’s Super League title. The result that confirmed Crown ‘A’ as champions was a 5-0 win against their local rivals Crown ‘B’ which gave them an unbeatable 155 points.

Second in the table Landywood ‘A’ had to wait one further game and week before they clinched the runners up spot, a close 3-2 win over Rowley Bar and Grill taking their points tally to 135 which was enough to establish them in the number two spot. Landywood’s win opened up a lead of fifteen points between themselves and third placed Greets Green whose 4-1 win at Wednesfield FC has seen them move up into third place on 120 points.

The Brierley Hill Friday Night League with all the domestic league issues sorted have been busy with cup finals the first of which was their singles knockout, in the semi finals there was a close 2-1 win for Ade Wakeman (Miners, Wollescote) over Dan Haywood (The Cross, Oldswinford) while Carl Davies (Netherton Cricket Club) had a straight 2-0 win against Neil Cooper (Brickmakers Arms). The final was another close affair with Davies just getting the 3-2 verdict to clinch the title.
In the doubles knockout both semi finals finished with narrow 2-1 results as A.Wakeman and D.Bull (Miners, Wollescote) beat R.Powers and J.Batham (Brickmakers Arms) and M.Flatman and J.Powell (Pensnett Welfare Club) won against N.Cooper and D.Cooper (Brickmakers Arms).
The final was yet another close affair with Wakeman and Bull just getting the 3-2 edge on Flatman and Powell to win the game.
The home and away League Cup semi finals saw Netherton Cricket Club have an overall 11-4 win against Pensnett Liberal Club and Pensnett Welfare Club beat Miners (Wollescote) 10-8.
The final was much closer and taking the crown with a 5-4 result was Netherton Cricket Club to leave Pensnett Welfare Club as runners up.

It’s been cups galore for the Camp Hill League the first of which was the League Cup with the title going to Hay Mills Lions after defeating Grange Social Club in the final. The Consolation Cup was won by Cotterills Lane Club with Station Bar finishing as runners up.
The Ladies Singles Knockout saw Gloria Lightwood (Devil’s Club) lift the crown following a final success against Danielle Whitmore (Wagon and Horses) and then another Devil’s Club player Alan Cheshire won the Secretaries Knockout beating league secretary Mark Standley in the final.
The Captains Knockout tile went to Holy Gulp representative Bill Carter whose final opposition came in the shape of Matt Cooper from Cotterills Lane Club.

With all of the league issues done and dusted the Bilston and District League had only cup finals remaining in their season, the final of the Main Cup brought together the league’s top two teams, champions The Nutan and runners up Tilted Barrel. The outcome was always going to be close and despite Nutan having beaten their rivals to the league title by a massive ten points the 4-3 cup result went in favour of Tilted Barrel who amazingly retained the title for a fourth consecutive season.
The semi finals of the Challenge Cup saw defending champions Great Western go out of the competition as they lost to White Hart ‘B’. Joining White Hart ‘B’ in the final was Lanesfield RBL who after taking out Red Lion in the last four playoff then went on to lift the trophy by beating White Hart ‘B’.

The Stourbridge and District Monday Night League singles finals saw both of the semi finals finish with close 2-1 results with wins for S.Tonks and R.Pierce who in turn accounted for D.Simpson and R.Colley. The final was a clear cut 3-0 score with Tonks getting the better of Pierce to take the title.

The Wednesbury and Darlaston Wednesday Night League played off the finals of their Margaret Melia Vase the winners being league leaders Staffordshire Knot after beating T & R Bar in the final. Losing semi finalists were Horse and Jockey and St Mary’s ‘B’.

The South Birmingham League completed their Mini League season with a final fixture between St John’s and The Raven the outcome of which would decide both the champions and runners up for the season. The 16-11 result went in favour of St John’s to secure the title with 90 legs four more than their opponents who finished as runners up, Mackadown Social were third on 72 and Erdington Members Club fourth with 69.

The Small Heath League staged their doubles knockout and taking the top prize was the pairing of Colin Rigby and Neil Parsonage (Emerald Club) who beat Tom White and Les Robinson from East Birmingham Allotment Holders Association in the final.

Both of the last four games in the Forest of Arden Summer League’s men’s doubles resulted in a 2-1 scoreline Derek Duggan and Cliff Okey beating Simon Edwards and Alex Edwards while Luis Barberan and William Naylor accounted for Mark Osborne and Clarke Horsley.

The final was no different as once again the margin between the two sides was 2-1 with Derek Duggan and Cliff Okey finishing as champions and Luis Barberan and William Naylor runners up.
The latter games in the ladies event were also 2-1 results as in the semi’s Diane Hudson and Sheila Hawkins beat Ruth Gwilliam and Courtney Burns and from the other half of the draw Dawn Duffy and Debbie Flynn won against Noreen Harris and Debbie Derbyshire.
In the final Duffy and Flynn were crowned champions as they just got the edge on Hudson and Hawkins.

The Pip Club League played off the finals of their Belgrave Cups, in the division one final Bulls Head ‘A’ (Polesworth) beat Birchmoor Club while the Belgrave Shadow Cup title went to Sports Bar ‘180’ with Belgrave Club runners up.
In the division two Belgrave Shadow Cup final divisional leaders Winning Post had a final win over Old Liberal.

The Pensnett and Bromley Tuesday Night League singles was won by Robert Pierce who in the final defeated John Wills, Rob Powers and Bob Carr both lost in the semis.
John Wills went one better in the doubles as he teamed up with Rob Powers and went on to win the final against Anthony Green and A.Adams. Losing out in the last four were Dean Marshall and Stuart Gough plus J.Williams and M.Cullis.

The Tamworth League staged their Charity Cup finals and in the semis Fox and Dogs accounted for Progressive Club with a straight 4-0 win, Prince of Wales ‘B’ won by the same margin against Wigginton Arms ‘B’. The final went the full seven legs distance with Fox and Dogs the 4-3 winners.

The Ripley Elite Darts Singles Summer League is up to week fifteen and in that week there were no fewer than twenty two maximums, four 90 plus averages and an eleven darts game in what was a week of very high standard darts.
In the Premier Division Gary Fenn won 5-0 and 3-2 and hit two 180’s while Kyle Anderson returned to Ripley Elite action after a month of travelling the world doing exhibitions and plying his trade to a larger audience, he had a top night winning 4-1 and 5-0 against respective opponents Tony Jacklin and Dave Fritchley hitting three maximums in the process and recording two ton plus finishes with an overall average of over 90 for his ten legs,
Daz Brown and Andy Gillott played out one of the best games of the season hitting an amazing five 180’s between them and both chalking up 90 plus averages. Brown’s 4-1 win was a bit fortunate as Gillott missed five darts at a double to make it 2-2 but "The Rooster” produced the game’s best leg a twelve darter in the final leg hitting two maximums. The win keeps Brown in pole position on 89 points from 17 games with Kyle Anderson hot on his heels with 81 points from 14 games.
Dale Gadsby seems to have been a bit flat in recent weeks but with his Aussie pal back he hit the week’s highest average a top class 96.99 and also recorded an eleven darts final leg which included a maximum.
In division one Josh England seems to be settling down nicely and had his best week to date winning 4-1 against Gaz Jowett and 5-0 against Martin Richards while his team mate Tom Webster beat Stuart Biggs 3-2 and followed up with a 4-1 win over Nathan Parkin, Webster also had the divisions highest checkout of the week 130 which places him in a comfortable mid table position. Stuart Biggs hit 3x180s and had a 114 finish in his two games winning 5-0 against Martin Richards and then losing 3-2 to Tom Webster.
Alan Statham leads the way in the division with 88 points from 16 games with second placed Pete Burgoyne having 82 points from the same number of games.
