Darts News – A West Midlands Round Up

This coming weekend Warwickshire will be playing their third fixture in the Premier Division of the UKDA National League and coming off the back of a narrow 19-17 home defeat to Lancashire, they will be hoping to return to winning ways in what will be an away game against Lincolnshire. However a win will not be an easy task as for the four UKDA seasons so far Warwickshire have lost to Lincolnshire, hopefully this weekend they will break that unwanted run. Warwickshire’s latest defeat saw them drop from pole position to fourth on forty-five points, six short of new leaders Suffolk.

Liming up for Warwickshire will be, Men’s ‘A’:- Danny Lauby, Dom Taylor, Gareth Braham, Jack Wareing, Jamie Hughes, Martin Tonks, Matty Washbrooke, Noel Grant, Nigel Heydon, Ian McFarlane, Steve Hine, Wayne Mynard, Men’s ‘B’:- Adam Hancock, Jnr Joyce, Dave Hill, Karl Reynolds, Lee Miller, Paul Harbourne, Mark Carter, Mark Strong, Lloyd Jackson, Taylor, McGuckian, Will Naylor, Zac Prince, Reserves:- Ryan Jackson, Carl Winters, Ian Shaw, Mark Martin, Jason Prince, Mark Faulkner, Women’s ‘A’:- Marian Conway, Wendy Adams, Natalie Gilbert, Courtney Hine, Hannah Meek, Kirsty Hinchliffe, Women’s ‘B’:- Nina Bolt, Macey Gibbons, Kacie O’Connor, Caroline Pike, Donna Pinch, Jodie Rigg, Reserves:- Clare Greenwood, Kristeen Meek, Denise Keyte.

In the Andy Wheeler Fisheries Championship Division, West Midlands will be hoping to make three consecutive wins when they play hosts to Humberside. Going into the fixture West Midlands are placed second in the promotional table with forty-six points while their opponents are sixth with thirty-nine points. A win for the Midlanders could well see them top of the table Sunday night as current leaders Cheshire have a bye this weekend.

---------------------------------

Last weekend Black Country brought forward their third fixture of the season in the L-Style Division One of the UKDA National League, a home game against Berkshire. Prior to the encounter Black Country were fifth in the division with twenty-two points and their visitors next to bottom of the table with fourteen points. Saturday’s games saw the ladies ‘B’ win 4-2 and the men’s ‘B’ win 8-4, with the respective match awards going to Demmi Titley (16.30) and Ian Townsend (25.62). The ladies ‘A’ finished all-square at three each with Chez Allcock topping the averages with her 17.28 while Jamie Rollinosn was the men’s ‘A’ man of the match with his 31.31 average as his team emulate the ‘B’ result wining once again 8-4.

The overall score for the weekend was 23-13 to Black Country to see them move up into the number one spot with sixty-five points, their opponents moving up four places to sixth with forty points. Although top of the division, Black Country have played three games and their position could well last only until all of the weekend’s results are in as their chasing teams have only played two games.
