The British Darts Organisation are delighted to announce that this year’s World Trophy event will boast a huge £150k prize fund, which will incorporate £50k for a nine dart leg and will take place over 3 days on 28th, 29th and 30th May at Manchester’s cutting edge Victoria Warehouse.

All of the BDO’s biggest names, including reigning BDO Lakeside World Champions Scott Waites and Trina Gulliver MBE, along with the likes of Glen Durrant, Martin Adams, Scott Mitchell, DetaHedman, Lisa Ashton, with wildcards for Jeff Smith, Andy Fordham and Ted Hankey, will compete for the £150k on offer at the iconic Manchester venue over the three full day event.

Additionally major free to air TV coverage has been secured for the event with a broadcaster that has recently enjoyed huge viewing figures for live sport. This broadcaster and an exciting new partnership with a major event promoter who has secured this TV coverage will be announced at a press conference next week in London.

These exciting announcements will predate news of a broadcast development for the 2017 Lakeside World Championships which will also be revealed in the near future.

I’m delighted to confirm the first of these major developments is that there will be a massive £100k prize fund and £50k for a nine dart leg for this year’s BDO World Trophy event. The other developments that we will be announcing next week are set to change the face of the BDO and our loyal players, members and fans will be delighted with the news we have for them.”

Tickets for the BDO World Trophy 2016 at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse will go on sale at noon on Friday 8th April from and are available in the following categories each day:

Zone C (Back Left) £10.00 Free Pint – Free Hot Dog – Free Programme

Zone B (Front Left) £29.00 Ten Free Pint Drink Tokens – Free Hot Dog – Free Programme – Priority Seating

Zone A – VIP (Right Hand Side) £49.00 Unlimited FREE Bar – Free Hot Dog – Free Programme – Priority Seating – Table Service ·

There will be a play-off for the World Trophy entry on Saturday 7th May at the Wolverhampton Sports Arena, Racecourse Road, Wolverhampton, WV6 0QU.
