As the Harborne Summer League draws to and end the final of their Knockout Cup has been on their agenda. Battling it out for the title were Ladywood Social and Lickey Banker. Two maximums from Lickey Bankers M.Bathurst helped his side to a very close 5-4 victory. Ladywood’s T.Byrne and J.Merrick both recorded eleven darts games.

There was a shock defeat for Midland Red in the premier division of the Harborne and District Winter League. Playing at Harborne Stores the Red’s were only able to field six players and as a result they went down 6-3.Raven chalked up a useful 7-2 win at Hobsons Choice while Highlander, with the help of a nine darts leg from J.Marshall beat Hillyfields 6-3.
In division one Bartley Green Social Flights proved to be too strong for Stonehouse and ran out 8-1 winners. The Pheasant fought back against Bartley Green F.C to snatch a 5-4 victory, J.Gaskin recording a nine darts leg.

R.Kenyon (Old Oscott WMC) was in fine form in division one of the Four Oaks and District League as he notched a maximum and also produced a cracking 154 checkout in his team’s 5-4 win over Anvil Nomads. Midland Red were top scorers as they accounted for Safe Harbour with an 8-1 verdict, putting them top of the table on average over Old Oscott WMC.
In the second division Boldmere Arrows, Cat and Fiddle and Brookvale Park Arrows all had 7-2 wins against respective opponents the Saints, The Duke and the Pint and Pot. Cat and Fiddle are joint leaders with Bromford Social.

Three Horse Shoes have opened up a two points lead at the top of division one in the Longwood Winter League. Two results gave Shoes their advantage, firstly their own point from the 4-4 draw with Royal Oak and second was the fact that their nearest rivals the Dolphin lost 5-3 at home to the Two Gates Club.
Plough and Harrow reduced the deficit to two points on leaders Railway in division two when they handed out an 8-0 whitewash to the Boot, Railway were only able to draw 4-4 at home against the Red Lion ‘B’.

This coming Sunday the Barras Social Club, Coventry, is the setting for the Midland Open presented by the Warwickshire Darts Organisation. For an entry fee of £8 there is on offer a top prize of £750, with prize money paid down to the last sixteen players.
Entries will be accepted on the day with doors opening at 10.30am. Players should be registered by 12.00 noon.

On Saturday the Black Horse, Green Lane, Small Heath are staging a 24 hours marathon in aid of Debra and the Childrens Hospital. Why not call into the Black Horse and support two very well worthy causes. The event will get underway at 12pm.
