WORLD DARTS TROPHY TO BE STREAMED WORLDWIDE

All the action from this week’s World Darts Trophy in Manchester will now be streamed live around the world.

Organisers BDO Events have today announced that all four days of the World Darts Trophy will be aired on a dedicated pay-per-view channel – www.bdolive.tv for all darts fans outside of the United Kingdom

The new channel will mean darts fans all over the world will be able to tune in for live coverage of the event, which is already being covered in the UK by British Eurosport.

Stephen Holland, managing director of BDO Events, said: " With players coming from all over the world we didn’t want their fans to miss out on their games. They can now sign up and enjoy high quality live coverage for less than the price of a pint!.”

The cost of approximately 6 hours of live darts each day will be Just £3 per day.

The World Darts Trophy will see the top 32 men and 16 ladies battling it out for a share of the £50,500 prize pot.

Canadian Jeff Smith will be one of three representatives from the North American continent in this year’s World Darts Trophy and will face Ross Montgomery while Dutchman  Wesley Harms will meet Stockholm’s Peter Sajwani.

‘Captain America’  Jim Widmayer takes on Martin Adams and Australian darts squad member Eddie Sims will step up to the oche against talented Dutchman Jeffrey de Graaf. Darius Labanauskas, the first Lithuanian to play the iconic Lakeside stage, will face Gary Robson.

The men’s competition is headed by the newly crowned Lakeside Champion Scott Mitchell ‘Scotty Dog’ and his opponent from the epic final, the three-times former BDO World Champion and recent Dutch Open Darts Champion ‘Wolfie’ Martin Adams.

‘The Count’ Ted Hankey, this year’s wild card and a real crowd puller, is making a welcome return to the BDO big stage when he takes on Sam Hewson, the reigning British Open Doubles champion.

Hankey is one of the most colourful characters in darts and is hoping the World Darts Trophy will kick-start his game which has brought him so much success over the last decade.

The first men’s player to the oche is ‘Silverback’ Tony O’Shea who, together with ‘The Dazzler’ Darryl Fitton, will be competing on home turf and are sure to entertain the Manchester crowd.

Pick of the ladies matches sees Deta Hedman ‘The Dark Destroyer’ winner of nine BDO World Ranking Tournaments in 2014 against her rival Trina Gulliver MBE The Golden Girl’, the nine times world champion.

Tickets for the World Darts Trophy range in price from £16 for a standard single day pass to £89 for a premier single four-day pass.
