Article: Winmau Darts Centre at Wolverhampton Sports Arena by Alan Towe

Winmau Darts Centre at Wolverhampton Sports Arena by Alan Towe

After clinching last season’s Winmau Thursday Night Champions League title and the lucrative deal that went with it namely the top prize of £300 plus if he qualifies for the PDC ‘Q’ School, he^ll be paid a cash award by Winmau, with further money from television appearances and the supply of equipment from Winmau’s class-leading range of dartboards, darts and accessories, Kevin Lane is looking to make it a fabulous double and retain his title.
At the time of going to print the new season is only four games in and Lane finds himself, as he was for the latter part of last season chasing Kevin Harris who leads the field with 22 points, Lane is joint second with 19 points both players having won their first four games.
Mick O’Neill finished last season in third place behind Lane and Harris and is currently joint second with Lane despite having lost one of his games. However there is a long way to go and with lots to play for anything can happen.

The centre in the Wolverhampton Indoor Community Sports Stadium has also got its new Monday Night League season underway and after the opening twelve games The Untouchables, who are the reigning champions are back in their most natural position top of the table.
The latest round of fixtures two maximums from Chris Marshall and another from Dave Bentley saw Untouchables storm to a 41-7 win over Where’s My Team to give them a total of 418 points six more than previous leaders What Are Thooose who despite a 34-14 win against Mad House drop to second in the table. Reece Cooke (Mad House) was another player to hit two maximums while for the winners Owen Maiden notched two and Euan McGovern one.

Dharam Jagpal owner of the stadium is always looking for more and better ways to promote darts at his venue and has lots of ideas in mind for future events, so watch this space for more information and be first to not only hear of the forthcoming events but also first to be able to take advantage of the opportunity of participating which could not only swell your bank balance but also provide you with a lucrative sponsorship deal.
