Winmau has been working closely with the Finnish Darts Organisation on this exciting new partnership that sees the Finnish Open being streamed worldwide via the internet.
The Finnish Open has been won previously by Winmau sponsored Mervyn King, three-times Winmau World Masters Champion Martin Adams, Raymond Barneveld and Nordic favourite Robert Wagner.
The web streaming initiative is another major step forward in the expansion of the increasingly popular Finnish darts market.
The Winmau Finnish Open will be played exclusively on the Winmau Blade 4, which is already being used at tournaments on the highly competitive Finnish darts circuit, which has produced notable players such as Jarkko Komula - a former Winmau World Masters finalist.
Ian Flack, Sales and Marketing Director for Winmau is delighted by the partnership, saying:
“We are proud to be involved in the Finnish Open and this latest internet streaming initiative. We are delighted that the Finnish Darts Organisation is using Winmau dartboards for the thriving Finnish darts circuit, and thank them for all their hard work to create such a high profile event”
This year’s entry list is as strong as ever with 2010 Winner Paul Knighton back to defend his title from the pack of chasing contenders including England’s Alan Norris (the Number 1 Men’s seed) and well-known names including Scott Waites, Darryl Fitton and Tony O^Shea.
