Article: SUNDAY SEMI FINAL FOR THE BRONZED ADONIS

SUNDAY SEMI FINAL FOR THE BRONZED ADONIS

We travelled to Reading at the weekend for two Pro Tour events which is a great new venue, the  Rivermead Leisure Centre.

The only draw backs were, beer £3.30 a pint and you had to pay a fiver to park your car.

On the Saturday I  was drawn first round against Mark Dudbridge, where I started well beating Mark 6-2 but then lost to Nick Fulwell 6-5 in the second.

Phil Taylor hit a nine darter in his second round against Tony West, What a way to go 174,177,treble 20, bull, double tops!!!

Phil went on to win the tournament beating Wes Newton 6-1 in the final.

On the Sunday I’m glad to say I faired much better making it to the semi’s.

I started by defeating Mareno Michels 6-2, Chris Thompson 6-1, Colin Osborne 6-4, Wes Newton 6-3, Jamie Caven  6-5 in the quarter finals, then lost 6-5 in another close game to the eventual winner Dave Chisnall in the semi’s.

Dave beat Phil Taylor 6-5 in the final, Phil had hit his second nine darter of the weekend earlier, in his first round match against Peter Hudson going the more conventional way this time, 180,180, 141 finish.

My knee has healed well since my surgery at the end of last year and this is reflecting in my game, so here’s hoping to make the final next time.

Happy Darting

Steve
