PRESS RELEASE: BARBADOS DARTS FESTIVAL

BRITISH CHAMPION LEON BAILEY TO TAKE PART IN NOVEMBER’S BARBADOS DARTS FESTIVAL

Leon Bailey, British Teenage Darts Champion in both 2008 and 2009, is looking to win tournaments and improve his game at this November’s Barbados Darts Festival, hosted by Wayne Mardle.

The teenager from Hull has a string of junior titles to his credit in his relatively short career - he was only introduced to the game by friends three years ago and he won’t be 19 until June!

He is determined to break into the top ranks as soon as possible but appreciates that he still has some way to go to combining his natural talent with consistency and tactical awareness. However he reasons that spending 10 days in the company of Wayne Mardle, who he has only played against at an exhibition, can only help develop all aspects of his game.

He admires Darryl Finton and Dave Chisnall and plays with Chizzy’s darts. He is also in regular telephone contact with Chisnall, this year’s BDO World Championship runner-up.

Leon plays regularly for Lincolnshire at County Level and has been generously supported by Derek and Paula Jacklin who both feel that he is capable of making it into the professional ranks.

Now in its ninth year, the Barbados Darts Festival, takes place from November 1 -11 and is great value at around £850 per person. Return scheduled flights, 10 nights in Barbados and participation in all the darts tournaments for £850 – you can’t beat that package!
