Porters Lodge Summer IDL 2010 - Finals Night Review
It was a case of fourth time lucky for Rob Madigan as he finally got his name on the Grand Final trophy, in an epic 15-12 victory over Neil French despite trailing early on in the match thanks to some superb finishing by "the Frog."
Steve Cooper regained the Turner Trophy after a 5-1 victory over the spirited Phil Treeby, while former Turner Trophy holder Christian Holcombe claimed the Mills Cup despite both his opponents, Paul Butler and Ian Whitmore having darts at double to beat him in the one leg format.
Frank Daly completed his perfect end to the season in another epic, taking his place in the Premier Division at the expense of Nick Sheldrick in a 7-5 victory.
Everyone in attendance fully enjoyed the evening, with the big screen, walk on girls, audio and large scoreboard adding to the big event feel and making it a great spectacle for people to watch.

There was also a collection on the night for the family of Ian Whitmore after the tragic death of his stepdaughter, and over £100 was raised to help with funeral costs. Ian and his family have asked me to express their deep gratitude for everyone^s generosity. If anyone who did not attend would like to make a contribution, please speak to Rob behind the bar.
Onto the Autumn IDL - and the fixtures will be sent out on Thursday night for all Divisions except Division Four - these will be sent out Friday night/Saturday morning. I^m pleased to report that only Neil Clarke has withdrawn from the IDL as well as previously withdrawn Dave Ross - this means that we have three spaces for new players, one of which has been allocated to former Turner Trophy finalist Steve Holmes.
Divisional Placings for the Autumn IDL are as follows:
Steve Edelman (reprieved due to Neil Clarke^s withdrawal)
Gavin Lumb (subject to his renewal - unconfirmed)
TWO NEW PLAYERS
The IDL begins on Monday, 11th October, so as soon as you get your fixtures please contact your opponent and book your board. The spreadsheet will be sent out on Friday, including a new rules page which players are advised to read. The draw for the Preliminary and First Rounds of the Turner Trophy will be made at the Porters Lodge on Monday at 10pm.
