Meet & Great "The Limestone Cowboy & Mile High"
Bob and Mark spent 45 mins or so sharing time with the guests, hosts and members of the club itself. It was especially nice to see many who had always wanted to meet Bob get chance to do so, also his manner with younger players and guests was exceptional, whether giving advice or just shooting the breeze it was very relaxed and allowed all to get into the occasion. As he was familiar with the venue and many of the guests Mark was able to renew many friendships and make some new ones.
Bob Anderson vs........
In the first section of the night MC John Fowler introduced the players to walk on music, Bob received a tremendous welcome and proceeded to display the skills which had won him 3 Winmau Masters on the run and a World Title 25 years before. The players in the first section included :Scott Johnson, Mark Keegan ( who very nearly won!), Dean Bond, Daniel Bond.
Bob played all comers with style as you would imagine including a number of double double check outs, a special seemed to be d14 bull!
Bob Anderson vs Mile High :
Next up was a Championship style set between our too stars! Mark considered it an honour and pleasure to share a stage with Bob. The set contained superb darts from both men, Mark was out of the blocks with a 180 1st 3 darts and followed with a 140. A 12 dart leg followed by a 14 ensured a 2-0 lead. Bob hit back in leg 3 with 2 x 140 and a smart check out to make it 2-1, after some entertaining efforts Mark clinched the set 3-1.
High & Whitey^s Valentine darts!
To give Bob and MC John Fowler a break our special guest was introduced and Red Dragon^s Ian "Diamond" White did not disappoint, despite being under dressed! A sample of the "High & Whitey Show" was played for the appreciative audience.
Ian had the Diamond ring and only played on Bull & 25, whilst Mark adopted the pose of the Valentine gent and played off one knee. 17 darts later and Mark had pinched the leg! The crowd had picked Ian as favourite, as always. But Mark made it 2-0 in this great fun game.
Limestone Cowboy returns......
Bob played another set of players in Part 2, now warmed up he was playing very well indeed and thus Callum Mathews performance in inflicting Bobs first defeat of the night was noticable. The young Staffordshire and soon to be England player hit multiple tons and a 177 before checking out 60 with two perfectly thrown darts. We suggest keeping an eye on this talented lad! LPKOD^s own The Cap also inflicted a defeat on Bob, after marking much of the first half! Fair play Andy. Tristan and young Keiran Pace also aquited themselves well and seemed to have a great time doing it.
The One Knee Worlds.
Unusually we had two great 1 knee players in the room, while Bob was signing and chatting away to the guests, Mile High took on The Cap in a special world champs! 4 100+ were scored but the leg did not reach the heights that they have managed before, earlier in the night next time! Its tough for "Mile High" to get back up again at his age!
Finale
After "Mile High" had played the remaining players including Josh Humphries and Mark Keegan who managed to sneak past him! A raffle draw was held to win a special shirt signed by all the nights stars. This was won by Clare Mace and will be auctioned for MS as soon as possible, well done Clare and a great gesture as well.
Thank you^s were made to Bob, Mark, Ian, John and all at Crompo^s. Following another round of photo^s, autographs and general fun it was time for Bob and all to retire due to a busy weekend of darts ahead.
