After her win Lisa said “I’m over the moon with that, I had to do it the hard way trailing 4-2 but I hit the key doubles where Ana missed”
“I’m so happy to get over the line and to defend my title makes it even more special. I knew I had to step up for the final and thankfully I did that”
“Because we had to start right from the floor it makes it mean just a little bit more than last year’s win, it means we all get a bit more match practice before TV but also stretches you that extra bit more”
In the men’s final John O’Shea defeated Scott Waites 6-4 to become the first Irishman to win the Mens World Masters. O’Shea also recorded wins over Mario Vandenbogaerde, Neil Duff and Willem Mandigers on his route to the title.
There was more success for Ireland in the Youth events as Keane Barry and Kaite Sheldon take the Boys and Girls titles respectively.
Katie defeated Scotland’s Sophie McKinlay in close 4-3 win whilst Barry’s win also went right the way to a decider. Keane faced Charlie Manby in the final and kept his nerve in the final leg to win 4-3.
