Lisa Ashton Claims Third BDO World Trophy Title
‘The Lancashire Rose’, Lisa Ashton, romped to her Third BDO World Trophy Title, after a stunning 6-2 win over Russia’s Anastasia Dobromyslova.
Lisa added the 2019 World Trophy Title to her 2015 and 2016 editions of the tournament and avenging her quarter-final loss to Dobromyslova in 2018 with this superb victory at The King George Hall, Blackburn.
Anastasia set the pace early on taking the opening two legs, finishing both on D20 before Ashton bounced back to reel off six consecutive legs, averaging 81.04 along the way.
Lisa pocketed the £3,000.00 winner’s prize and after the final said “It was an absolutely great game and I’m so happy to get over the line, my darts are feeling even better than normal and I’m just loving playing. All the ladies played great throughout the tournament and the level we’re playing at the moment show’s we can mix it with anyone”.

2019 Champion of Champions Winner Jim Williams continued his scintillating form as he picked up a second major title in a week, and his first major BDO title, recording an 8-6 win over BDO No.1 seed Richard Veenstra in what was a tight and entertaining men’s final. Following Jim’s superb victory at the 2019 Champion of Champions Williams was hot favourite for the World Trophy Title, where he recorded impressive wins over the inform Wes Newton, Scott Taylor, Joe Chaney and Mark McGrath. Jim took home a tidy £8,000.00 World Trophy first prize to add to last Saturdays £10,000.00 winnings at The Champion of Champions and Jim’s rise continues.
