GET ON THE OCHE WITH NEW CONSUMER EVENT DARTEX LIVE

A brand new consumer live event will step up to the oche on Sunday 29th and Monday 30th May 2011 when Dartex Live comes to Birmingham’s NEC. Featuring legends and current stars from the World of Darts, the two-day Bank Holiday weekend event will be a completely interactive experience with opportunities for visitors to compete in master classes and competitions for cash prizes.

Aiming to attract around 7,000 visitors in its first year, the show will take place in the 5,000 square metre Pavilion. Features will include a main events stage with stars and legends such as Eric Bristow and John Lowe, and current players including Ted Hankey and Co Stompé are already booked to appear. There will also be a retail village housing around 50 exhibitors, offering the latest darts, flights, and boards as well as rare signed memorabilia and gadgets.

Organiser Nici Gallagher explains: “In the past few years, Darts has transformed itself from a sport largely associated with drinking and smoking in pubs and working men’s clubs to one of Britain’s fastest growing sports with 2,000,000 players and 8,000,000 enthusiasts in the UK together with a huge worldwide following.”

Other show features including the grand final of the National Knock-Out Pub Team Competition, master classes held by World top ranking players, a ‘Meet and Greet’, and the Nine Darts Charity Challenge where visitors have the chance to win a Mercedes by throwing the perfect 501. Organisers are also bringing back the cult TV show Bullseye complete with Tony Green, the original voice and umpire of the show.

Rates for exhibiting start at £250 per square metre for carpeted shell scheme stand making it an ideal opportunity to have valuable face-to-face time with consumers and generate revenue. There are also a number of sponsorship opportunities ranging from signage around the event to the headline title sponsor. Bespoke packages are also available.
