Dennis “The Menace” wins Winmau Dazzler 2011

The Dennis Priestley express arrived in Batley Leeds in last week^s Winmau Dazzler where he beat current PDC world champion Adie Lewis in the final – the Yorkshireman secured a landslide final victory against Tony O^Shea by 5 -0 after beating Adrian Lewis in the semi finals with a 104 average compared to Adrian^s 102, which proves there^s plenty life in the old dog yet.

Dennis was in great form all night as he beat Terry Jenkins in his first round game, before facing the Current world Champion Adrian Lewis. With Dennis having a partisan home crowd the deafening chants of "Yorkshire Yorkshire” galvanised his game and Dennis looked just like a current world champion.

To be fair to Adrian he took the defeat in very good humor, with Lewis milking the large crowd by holding his hands to his ears as chants of ‘Yorkshire^ rang out.

After his win Dennis said "It was absolutely fantastic to be back at the Winmau Dazzler in my home county, and to actually get a win. With the sheer quality of dart players on display it actually felt like the later stages of a major event, and I was really happy to win the title”.

Dennis added "Everyone always asks me when I^m going to hang up my darts, but that won^t be for a few years yet as I^m know that I can still compete at the highest level on the darts circuit”.
