Darts News – Alan Towe’s The Line On Darts: Men’s Gold Cup Singles

Congratulations to Dean Stewart, who battled his way through a really tough field of Warwickshire players to win the county play off for the Gold Cup Singles Competition. Stewart reached the final after defeating top players such as Rob Hawker, Mark Strong and in the semi finals England international Tom Aldridge.

From the other half of the draw Graham Hall emerged as Stewart’s final opponent, Hall beating an in form Mark Westgarth, who in his first leg checked out in ten (10) darts hitting 140, 180 and 145 to leave double eighteen, which he shot first dart. Hall then went on to win the tie 3-2. In the semi final Hall faced Antony Allen who was looking to make it a hat trick of Gold Cup singles titles, but Hall went on to clinch a win, unfortunately his luck ran out in the final and Stewart became the 2013 / 2014 champion and will represent Warwickshire in the national finals at Lakeside in July. ---------------------------------
