Darts News – Alan Towe’s The Line On Darts – BDO World Youth Championship


The British Darts Organisation (BDO) are delighted to announce the staging of the inaugural BDO Youth World Championships. Following a knock out tournament the final will be played at the undisputed home of World Darts the Lakeside Country Club on 8thJanuary 2015.

The knock out competition which is £10 to enter will be held during the week of the Winmau World Masters on 8thOctober 2014 in Hull. The tournament is open to all players (excluding Full or Associate Members of the PDPA) who are under the age of 18 on 8thJanuary 2015. Entry details will be send to qualifying countries shortly.

"This is exciting news for young darts players across the world. This is an important step in the BDO’s emerging youth programme and is a perfect stepping stone for young players to move from playing in floor events to experience playing on a big stage. It is particularly exciting that they will be treading on the same stage as so many of their darting heroes.

"It is the most exciting darts initiative that I have been involved with and can only be to gateway to bigger success.

"For the event to be part our annual championships which attracts a live audience of millions of TV viewers around the world via BBC TV Sport is tremendous news.”
