DARTS: Cambs beat relegation

CAMBS retained their BDO Inter-County Premier Division status despite a 22-17 defeat to Essex at the weekend.

They didn^t have the best start in the men^s B as their only win came via a man of the match award win from Andy Findley. The ladies started better and took two of the first three games, with Diane Couzens lady of the match.

Martin Kingsley and Dave Pinder shared the points in the next four matches of the men^s, before wins from Karen Roberts and Fiona Coker saw the Ladies win their match 4-2.

Wins from Bill Richards and Chris Sheldrake meant the men lost 5-7, but that left the overall score at 9-9.

There was a good start to Sunday with wins from Paul Crawford and Ian Brand, but there was a bad start in the ladies, with only a match award winning performance from Juliet Findley.

In the next four men^s games Cambs took two wins. The ladies needed all wins to give them a chance of taking the title, but it was not to be and they finished third.

The men took two more wins with the match award going to Martin Adams, who also won BDO Inter-County Player of the Year.
