Chris Murphy of Point Media Reviews Winmau Stealth Flights

I have been throwing with the new Red Dragon Amberjacks (23g) combined with Winmau’s Stealth flight system for around an hour per day for the past couple of weeks.

Whenever I’ve switched darts it has taken some time to get used to like wearing brand new shoes but these felt pretty comfortable straight away.

The barrel shape is slightly more bulbous than any dart I had thrown previously but this seemed to suit my grip and action. I also noticed the darts tend to slide off each other on the rare occasions I group them closely enough, which dramatically reduces bounce outs.

In fact, throwing them at a Winmau Blade 4, I have hardly had any bounce outs at all!

The combination with the Stealth flight system has been an added bonus.

I had tried the FIT system a year or two ago and was very impressed with the way they helped the dart fly through the air in a way I can only describe as ‘true’.

However, once I had started to catch the flights with the points, they deteriorated quickly and ripped. Those type of flights are very expensive to replace so I went back to the old fashioned approach.

So roll on the new Winmau Stealth flights which are clearly stronger and more robust.

There is hardly a mark on them after around 14 hours play – and that’s not because I throw them nowhere near each other, honest!

I love the way these darts and flight system cut through the air enabling me to see their true arced flight path, enabling me to make more informed adjustments or repeat a solid action.

There has been a marked improvement too. I don’t think I’ll be scaring the Premier League boys just yet but my average has shot up from the early 50s to the more respectable early 60s.

All in all, these products are working for me. Now I just need Winmau to make me a new arm and I’ll be on my way to the top.
