Norfolk v Derbyshire Since gaining promotion to division one in the BDO Inter County Championships in 2014/2015 Derbyshire have not enjoyed the best of results having won just one of their last nineteen games which has seen them plummet from division one to division three. Their opening fixture in division three was a tough tie against Merseyside which saw their opponents take the 22-14 result. Derbyshire’s next fixture this coming weekend is an away game against Norfolk who are newly promoted from division four, a game Derbyshire should and must win if they are to get back into winning ways and want to achieve promotion to division two this season. West Midlands v Warwickshire Warwickshire will be back in action in the premier division of the BDO Inter County Championships this coming weekend when they take on newly promoted and local rivals West Midlands in this the second of their scheduled nine fixtures. Both teams will be looking to chalk up their first win of the campaign Warwickshire having lost a hard fought home battle against reigning champions Yorkshire 19-17 and West Midlands opened their account with an 18-18 draw away to Devon. Warwickshire will however be hoping to emulate the result of some eight and a half years ago the last time the two teams played each other in division one on the 28th and 29th March 2009 when they won 27-9 and were playing on the West Midlands home board in that fixture. West of England v Shropshire This coming weekend Shropshire will play their second division four fixture of the new season in the BDO Inter County Championships when they travel to take on West of England. For the last two seasons the fixture has resulted in a 23-13 scoreline with West of England winning in 2016/2017 and Shropshire in 2015/2016. Shropshire also won the previous season’s game 22-14 and with two wins in the last three meetings they will be looking to add to that statistic. West Midlands v Warwickshire West Midlands, newly promoted to the premier division of the BDO Inter County Championships have enjoyed a very promising start to the new season as they followed up their 18-18 draw away to Devon in the curtain raiser with 20-16 home win in a rearranged fixture against Hampshire, champions of division one and promoted with West Midlands last season. This coming weekend will be a real tester for West Midlands, despite home advantage once again they will face up to local rivals and well established premier team Warwickshire who are in their ninth successive season in the premier division.
