There were wins for Bartley Green Social Club and Punchbowl in the semi finlas of the Harborne and District Winter League’s Wadsworth Cup. Bartley, with a 180 from S.Riddick chalked up a massive 8-1 win over Harborne Stores, while Raven went out of the competition by 5-4 to Punchbowl.
In the second round of the Consolation Cup, Ladywood Social won 6-3 against Hobsons Choice, George and W.C.WMC both had 5-4 wins againstt respective opponents Pheasant and Highlander Ladies.
Raven have taken top spot in the premier division following their 5-4 victory over previous leaders Harborne Stores. New Inns have won the division one title after defeating Bartley Green F.C. 7-2, Inns just pipping Weoley Castle on average.

In the Harborne 401 Summer League a 180 from B.Melvin (Harborne Stores) was not enough for his team to avoid a 7-2 defeat at the hands of the George, whose A.Stevens had a 160 break. Hillyfields man S.Pasetti was in fine form hitting no fewer than nine three figure scores including a maximum as his side beat Ladywood Social 5-4.
In the second division D.Tromans (Stonehouse Flights) hit a 180 as his team edged out Bartley Green Social Flights by 5-4.

Peter Allen, with 52 points is in pole position in the Minworth Social Individual League, but just one point behind him is Lance Thompson. Thompson, who has played two more games than Allen had mixed fortunes this week as he beat Rob South 2-1 and then lost by the same scoreline to Pat Koyce.
It was a rather quiet week for 180’s with only six being recorded by Ricky Lawrence, Derek Mountjoy, Lance Thompson, Wayne Harrison, John Ainsworth and Carl Betteridge.

The Forest of Arden Summer League began their campaign and the pre-season division ‘A’ favourites, Red Arrows and Hobs Meadow could both only manage a draw against in turn Highwood and Harvester. Old Bill and Bull were the ‘A’ division top scorers with an 8-2 verdict over Heart of England.
In division ‘B’ Falcons recorded a tremendous 9-1 result against Acocks Green, Three Horse Shoes not far behind with thier 8-2 score at the Farringdon.

In the second fixture of the season the top two teams in group one of the Sheldon and District Summer League, Three Horse Shoes and Stechford Social met and the result was a 4-4 draw, M.Heaven hitting a 180 for the Shoes. There was also 180’s for St Annes M.Noonan and Raven’s K.Kelly.
The tie between Malt Shovel and Hen and Chickens in group two was a high scoring affair with E.Davison and P.Yardley (Malt Shovel) and D.Duggan (Hen and Chickens) all hitting maximums, the result finished all square at four each.
Hobs Meadow maintained their 100% record in group three beating Sheldon Social 5-3. Other 180’s were hit by R.Taylor (Hobs Meadow), C.Wyatt (Shannons) and R.Robinson (Sheldon and Marlboro).

Saltley Flights made it five wins in as many games in the Small Heath League, when with a 7-2 result they accounted for their nearest rivals Custard House ‘A’. The defeat was the first Custard House had conceded and leaves them two points adrift of the leaders.

After completing two fxtures, three teams are level on four points in the Longwood Summer League. Queens Head and Red Lion ‘B’ had 5-3 wins against respective opponents Wilnecote Club and Jolly Sailor, while Plouh and Harrow had a bye.
