A 180 from A.D.Flanagan was the only high spot for Harborne Stores as they received a 9-0 whitewash from the Highlander in division one of the Harborne 401 Summer League. Midland Red continue to motor on as they defeated Bartley Green Social Club 8-1 and there were 7-2 and 6-3 wins for Raven and the George over respective opponents Kings Highway and Hillyfields.
In division two better finishing by Hobsons Choice gave then the 6-3 verdict over Stonehouse Flights.

After only two fixtures in division ‘A’ of the Forest of Arden Summer League, not one team is able to boast a 100% record. Last week’s winners Old Bill and Bull lost 8-2 to Hobs Meadow Mixes and Stechford Social finished all square at 5-5 with Heart of England. Red Arrows suffered a shock 7-3 reversal at the Harvester, but Hobs Meadow chalked up their first win, a 7-3 result at the Highwood.
In division ‘B’ Mackadown Social made it two straight wins, when they beat Farringdon Social 6-4.

3-0 wins over Steve Cain and John Turner keeps Peter Allen in pole position in the Minworth Social Individual League with 62 points. Second placed Carl Betteridge also had similar results against Mick Smith and Peter Guesford, while Mark Hollyoake lost ground when he went down 2-1 to Ian McFarlane. Richie Shenton has moved up the table following his three 3-0 wins over Paul Chick, Steve Brindley and Derek Fardon. Shenton is now sixth on 51 points, but with two games in hand on the leader.
Best finish of the week went to Peter Guesford in his 2-1 win over John Turner he recorded a 157 finish. Highest score of 180 went to Richie Shenton (3), Paul Chick, Mick Smith, Gary Mills, Pat Koyce, Steve Brindley, Derek Mountjoy, Gordon Clinton, Steve Bradley and Peter Allen.

Peter Allen also continues to impress in the Sportsmans Rest Double Top League with 3-0 wins over Richie Shenton and Barry Stephens. Steve Cain was certainly in form when he squared up to Richie Shenton. Cain with scores of 2x180,3x140 and 100 chalked up a twelve darts leg and won 2-1. Also hitting maximums were John Ainsworth, Gordon Clinton (2), David Platt, Richie Shenton (2), John Morris, Peter Allen and Derek Fardon.

The Harborne and District Winter League will be holding their AGM at their headquarters, the Hillyfields, Quinton Road, Harborne, this coming Sunday. Old and new members are invited to attend the meeting which will commence at 11.00am.

Winning their way through the preliminary round of the Sheldon and District Summer League’s Mrs F.Richman Trophy are the Punchbowl, Sheldon Shoes, British Telecom Club and Chelmsley Wood RBL at the expense of Shard End RBL, the Falcons, Millhouse and Plume of Feathers.

With Red Lion ‘A’ having a bye, Queens Head have taken over the top spot in the Longwood Summer League with a 6-2 win at Red Lion ‘B’. Queens now have the same 11 points as Lion. Third placed White Lion had a similar 6-2 in their game with Mercian and are now just one point behind the leading pair.

Shannons got the new Camp Hill League season off to a good start with a convincing 7-2 home win over the Red Devils Club.
