Village Stump handed out a 9-0 whitewash to Stonehouse Flights in division two of the Harborne 401 Summer League, while in division one Midland Red were the week’s top scorers with an 8-1 success over Hillyfields.. Bartley Green Social Club lost their home tie with the Raven by a close 5-4.

As the end of season draws ever nearer in the Minworth Social Individual League Peter Allen tops the table with 157 points from 36 games. His latest fixtures saw him beat Vicky Byrne 3-0 and Wayne Harrison 2-1, while Mark Hollyoake, in second place on 139 points chalked up two 3-0 victories against Gary Mills and Steve Davis, but it looks as though the reigning champion will have to be satisfied with the runners up spot this season.
There are vacancies for the Minworth Social Individual Winter League, which will get underway on Wednesday 30th October. Anyone interested should contact Gordon Clinton on 0121-776-6455.

The Sportsmans Rest Double Top League is also nearing it’s end of season and it is now a possibility that Peter Allen can complete a very special double. Allen, top of the table on 153 points after completing 38 fixtures is three ahead of David Platt. The latest round of games saw Allen beat Richie Shenton and Steve Cain 2-1 and Platt account for Pat Koyce, with a 3-0 result.

A 5-3 defeat at the hands of the Sheldon Heath Dukes, in the final game of the season was immaterial as the Three Horse Shoes won the Sheldon and District Summer League group one title with 14 points from 10 fixtures. However, it was their superior average that won them the title as Stechford Social, who won their last game against the Raven 5-3, also finished on 14 points, but nine legs adrift of the champions.
The group two title went to Saltley Amateur Gardeners, while Hobs Meadow, with the biggest points win, a six points advantage over runners up Sheldon Heath Social took the group three title. Respective group four, five and six winners were, Glebe Community Centre, Plume of Feathers and Old Bill and Bull.

Leaders of the Longwood Summer League, Red Lion ‘A’ dropped a couple of title points when they could only manage a 4-4 draw at the Plough and Harrow. Second placed Dolphin reduced the arrears to just two points by beating Mercian 6-2.

Only average separates Saltley Flights and Black Horse the top two teams in the Small Heath Summer League. Saltley had a comfortable 8-1 success against Gables, while Black Horse were not far behind with their 7-2 win over Ward End Ex Service Club. Third in the table Custard House ‘A’ returned with a useful 8-1 result from the Red Devils Club.
The league’s latest “Dartt’o Game winners are, 1st 331 (serial number AC416014) £22, 2nd 442 (serial number JP58428) £13 and 3rd 756 (serial number AB811505) £9.

As a result of their 9-0 win at Gables Tavern, Shannons, with 26 points still remain in pole position in the Camp Hill and District League. Four points adrift of the leaders, in second spot, Black Horse had a close 5-4 verdict over the Red Devils Club.
The league will be holding their AGM at the Railway Club, Bolton Road, Small Heath at 11.00am this coming Sunday. New and old teams are invited to attend the meeting with a view to forming the forthcoming season and appointing a league committee.
