A rearranged fixture between two of the top teams in the Forest of Arden Winter League Hobs Meadow and Hobs Meadow Mixes resulted in a very close 5-4 verdict for Hobs Meadow giving them 30 points from 19 games and taking them into pole position. Mixes have now dropped to third on 26 points with Red Arrows second with 28 points. Both teams have a game in hand on the leaders.
In the semi-finals of the league’s Divisional Cup Red Arrows progressed to the final with an 11-4 success over Stechford Social, while Hobs Meadow made a shock exit as a result of their 8-7 defeat at the hands of the Solihull Borough Flights outfit. There was a shock for the Harvester in the Shadow League Divisional Cup going out 8-7 to the Old Bill and Bull. Highwood made the final with an 11-4 win against Farringdon Social.

Round two of the Bob Price Trophy was the item on the agenda for the South West Birmingham Clubs League and recording 7-0 wins were Bartley Green F.C, Tascos ‘B’ and Bournbrook Arrows over respective opponents Northfield Ladies, Allens Cross Arrows and Tascos Flights. In the league division two’s Triplex beat Moseley Cricket Club 7-0.

Harborne Stores have taken over the number one spot in the premier division of the Harborne and District Winter League following their 5-4 win against the George. At the other end of the table Hobsons Choice beat fellow strugglers Hillyfields 6-3.
In division one leaders Weoley Castle defeated Highlander Ladies 7-2, while New Inns, also challenging for the top spot recorded a 6-3 win at Bartley Green Social Flights.
The league will be holding their AGM on Sunday 26th May at the Hillyfields. All teams both old and new are invited to the meeting which will commence at 11.00am.

Midland Red extended their unbeaten run in division one of the Harborne 401 Summer League with a convincing 8-1 win at Harborne Stores, J.Archer helping them on their way with a 180.T.Byrne (Ladywood Social) also notched a maximum in his side’s 7-2 win at the Kings Highway, as did Raven’s J.Hands, unfortunately his team lost 5-4 against the George, the game containing 50 scores of 100 or over.

Reigning champion of the Minworth Social Individual League, Mark Hollyoake began the new campaign in style as he beat Alan Mayell 3-0 hitting in the process 180,5x140,113 plus finishes of 121 and 120. Hollyoake also registered 15 and 12 darts games in his win. One new face this season, Lesley Newcombe proved that she can hold her own with the men as she beat both Bill Kirkland and Richie Baker 2-1.
Maximums were hit by Gordon Clinton, Richie Shenton (2), Tony Pedley, Mark Hollyoake (2), Gary Mills and Pat Koyce.

Highwood representatives Mark Wall and Jim Norris took the Sheldon and District Winter League’s doubles title at the Lea Hall RBL with a final 2-1 win over Alan Caddick and Kevin Moloney (EBAHA).
This coming Sunday the Sheldon Summer League will be holding their meeting at Lea Hall RBL at 10.30am. All teams should be represented to collect match books and fixtures for the forthcoming season, which will get underway on Thursday 30th May.

At the recentLongwood Winter League presentation, Chairman Ron Cheneler announced that he was retiring from the position. Ron who has held the post for many years will be greatly missed for all the hard work and endeavour he has put into the league to make it what it is today.
