A couple of re-arranged fixtures in the Harborne and District Winter League saw the George beat Hobsons Choice 7-2 in a cracker of a match. A close encounter between W.C.WMC and Ladywood Social ended with a 5-4 win for W.C. whose M.Lyden notched a maximum.
Top scorers in the league’s Wadsworth Cup were Hillyfields who ran out comfortable 8-1 winners against Stonehouse Flights. Bartley Green Social Club, New Inns, Harborne Stores and Highlander all recorded 7-2 wins over respective opponents Ladywood Social, Bartley Green F.C, Bartley Green Social Flights and the Pheasant. Weoley Castle defeated W.C.WMC 5-4.
T.Cahill (Weoley Castle) and P.Evans (Ladywood Social) both had 160 breaks.

It’s hotting up at the top of the Minworth Social Individual League with Peter Allen leading the field on 91 points, his latest games seeing him beat Andy Sheen 3-0, in which he hit two 180’s and then a 2-1 success against Alan Mayell. Second in the table Tony Randell is on 90 points. He won 3-0 in his game with Paul Chick and followed that with a 2-1 win over Mick Bagley, both players hitting a maximum.
Mark Hollyoake in a bid to catch up on missed games played three fixtures this week and chalked up 3-0 wins over Richie Baker and Steve Cain jnr, plus a 2-1 victory against Derek Fardon. Hollyoake hit two 180’s against Cain. In addition to the six maximums already mentioned there were another twelve, supplied by, Steve Cain, Ricky Lawrence (3), Steve Hawkes, Richie Baker, Richie Shenton (3), Derek Fardon and John Ainsworth (2).

Hobs Meadow Mixes kept up the pressure on Arrows with a 6-3 result at the Cock and Hens, Jan Zimmerman chalking up an eight darts leg. Highwood had a tremendous 8-1 win at the Old Bill and Bull with A.Cooke hitting a maximum. Harvester went one better and defeated Farringdon Social 9-0. ----------------------------------
