The final of the Skipp Cup was on the agenda for the Harborne and District Winter League. The George turned out to be the eventual winners with a convincing 12-3 victory over runners up Avenue Social.

It was also cup week in the Harborne 401 Summer League, the first round of their Knockout Cup. Midland Red were in superb form as they took out Coronation Club with an 8-1 result. Man of the match most certainly had to be Red’s Tom McGlone who not only recorded TWO 160 breaks but also chalked up a 160 finish. In addition to this McGlone also had 137 and 115 checkouts together with three scores of a ton.
Hillyfields proved too good for Avenue Social as they progressed to the next round with a 7-2 scoreline.

The Sheldon and District Winter League have been really busy with their knockouts first the Jubilee Trophy. Tipsy Gent’s Terry Webster was in fine form as he carried off the title with a straight 2-0 victory against league Chairman Alan Mayell in the final.
On his path to the final Webster defeated F.Goldsbey 2-1, R.Parry 2-0 and B.Fenton 2-0. Mayell however, in his tie with Jim Tough was on the verge of defeat when he produced a tremendous 167 game shot (57-60 and the bull).
In the “Round Robin” Vice Presidents Trophy Tom Kelly took the honours with 2-0 wins over R.Earl and A.Powell.
W.Mathews (Three Horse Shoes) had a 152 break in the semi-finals of the Denis Houlders Trophy but it was not enough for his team to avoid a 5-0 defeat at the hands of the Saltley Amateur Gardeners team. In the other semi St Annes had a narrow 3-2 success against the Malt Shovel.
Saltley were in top form in the final with T.Randell hitting a maximum and P.Stevens breaking with 160 as they roared to a 4-1 victory.
The league will be holding their AGM on Sunday 24th June, beginning at 10.00am at the league headquarters, the Lea Hall RBL.

Wins over Pip Club and Red Lion (Wilnecote) by, in turn Three Horse Shoes and White Lion (Wilnecote) has seen the winners safely through round three of the Divisional Cup in the Longwood League.

2-1 wins over Tom Dillon and John Ainsworth has seen Richie Shenton take over the number one spot in the Minworth Social Individual League with 56 points. Shenton was in fine form against Dillon hitting no fewer than 7x100. However, in his tie with Ainsworth he really turned up the power hitting 2x180,2x140 and 4x100, checking out in 14 and 15 darts.
Just one point adrift of Shenton is Scott Mitton, who with 180,2x140, and 5x100 beat Adrian Hammersley 2-1 and then went on to defeat Richie Baker 3-0. Mitton has the advantage of a game in hand on the leader as does third placed and reigning champion Dave Shorthouse who, is a further three points behind Mitton.
Also hitting maximums this week are, Paul Burnham, Trevor Frost, Steve Cain (2), Darren White, Barry Stephens, Steve Hawkes, Tom Dillon (2), John Ainsworth, Steve Hine, Dave Shorthouse Pat Koyce and Gordan Clinton.
