6th Streamline Taxis York Open Darts Championships Ranking Event 4

The arrival of the BDO World
Champion Scotty Waites to this event certainly created a buzz around the venue
and gave one person a very enjoyable memory to take home with him. Malton^s
Graham Steel took out a 112 finish for 15 darts to defeat the former PDC Grand
Slam of Darts Champion 3-2 in the last 32 of Ranking Event Four organised in
Association with Red Dragon Darts. 
		
		Steel continued his fine run of form making it to the 1/4 Finals before going
down 3-2 to Hull^s Jamie Branton. 
		
		UK Open Qualifier Curtis Turner defeated York^s
Chris Thompson in the quarters and then whitewashed Branton 4-0 to make his
first YDP Final.
		Humberside^s Tommy Lishman had a 3-2 Win over James
Weldon to set up a Semi-Final match with Neil Ward who beat Leeds Ian Watson
3-0. Ward progressed to his first YDP event final after winning 4-2 against
Lishman.
		
		The final was a bit of a hit and miss affair
between Turner (2 x 16 dart legs) and Ward who had 2 x 18 dart legs but it was
the latter who edged to a 5-4 victory with both players hitting 180 scores.
		
		The highest checkout of the day sponsored by
Embassing Racing of York was won by Alex Pride who had a 140 finish. Other ton
plus finishes came from Keith Craggs 124, Josh Clough 108, Lishman 107 and
young Ollie Laws 102.
		
		Furthest lady went to Amanda Britton and Ollie Laws
continued some great performances to collect the Furthest Youth prize.
Ranking Event Five is this Saturday, 5th March at Huntington WMC in York. registration closes 12.30pm for 1pm start.
