Snakebite Wins Players Championship 30
Peter Wright claimed his third ProTour title of 2019 in sublime fashion, defeating Krzysztof Ratajski 8-1 at the Players Championship 30 final in Barnsley.
Snakebite followed up his record average achieved against Ratajski yesterday with another relentless performance against the Polish Eagle.
Peter burst into a 5-0 lead, including 11 and 12 dart legs before Ratajski stopped the rot with a 14 dart leg. However Peter regrouped to close out the victory with another three legs on the bounce and averaging 101.
Wright also hammered in ton plus averages against Mark McGeeney, Steve West and Ryan Searle in his run throughout the tournament.
After the final, Peter said "It's been a great couple of days. I beat Krzysztof yesterday and today I wanted to try and beat him 8-0!
"He's a fantastic player and the past two days have been very tiring for both of us, so I'm happy to win. It was a hard day and to come through and take the title is brilliant."
Attention now turns to the PaddyPower Champions League of Darts for Wright, which will be live on BBC Sport from Leicester on 19th and 20th October.
