Shropshire v Northumberland Preview by Alan Towe

Shropshire v Northumberland

This coming weekend Shropshire will be playing their penultimate fixture of the season in division three of the UKDA National League, a home tie against Northumberland. Due to having a bye in the previous round of fixtures Shropshire slipped down the divisional table from third to sixth on 128 points, a huge thirty-one short of their opponents who are currently riding high at the top of the table with an eight points lead over second placed, and Shropshire’s local rivals Salopian. So this weekend’s fixture will be no easy game for the hosts but a good win could well put them back in the mix for promotion with a final away game against Wirral.

Selected to play for Shropshire are Men’s ‘A’:- Dave Bayton, Phil Clarke, Reece Cook-Lucas, Chris Fox, Kevin Harris, Paul Harrison, Andy Jervis, Richard Parker, Josh Pickett, Simon Pritchard, Jamie Webb, Chris Williams, Men’s ‘B’:- Rushpal Bhogal, Jon Blakemore, Dan Downey, Chris Evans, Stu Kendrick, Steve Lynch, Phil Mayo, Shane Passey, Martin Price, John Simms, Luke Wildman, Reserves:- Clark Cook, Brian Hickman, Ryan Locker, Simon Mountford, Rob Pierce, Lee Shaw, Andy Vellender, Ant West, Women’s ‘A’:- Jenna Ball, Kelly Haverson, Marie Riggs, Deana Sheldon, Sophie Ward, Annmarie Williams, Women’s ‘B’:- Ann Cooper, Jayne Downey, Sara Jones, Joanne Meachin, Dianne Newton, Michele Pritchard, Reserves:- Nicola Ball, Sandra Beardsmore, Nicola Blackburn, Kirsty Jenks.
