Ross "The Boss" Montgomery signs for another 3 years with Red Dragon Darts
Ross Montgomery, The 2014 Dutch Open Champion and World Trophy Finalist announced his commitment to stay with Red Dragon Darts for a further 3 years this week.
The Die-Hard Scottish stalwart has been on the BDO World Darts Tour for over 12 years, racking up some huge mileage and over 14 Major Titles.
Ross first signed with Red Dragon back in 2011, where he met with Head of Marketing Simon Hall over a beer at the Winmau World Masters.
Hall said; “I’d just seen Ross play some superb darts in the Quarter Final, beating Stephen Bunting 3 - Nil and went over to say well done, we got chatting and I was blown away by the passion Ross showed for the game and the vision he had for some new darts that I knew we’d love to make and it was from there that we never looked back. Ross is a really gritty competitor and he backs his own talent which I love to see, so you can imagine how happy we were when Ross decided to stay with us and keep our production boys on their toes”.
Ross has enjoyed a steady upward trajectory in the last 3 years, culminating in his superb victory at the biggest televised open darts event in the World, the 2014 Dutch Open. It^s clear when you talk to Ross that he only has one ambition: to keep this winning trend going with Red Dragon^s support. “Being with Red Dragon has been superb" he told us. "They have shown a huge faith in me as a player, they have listened to all my concerns on my set up and have helped improve every area of my darts set up right down to my shafts and flights, so for me staying with them to win another Televised Major is my No.1 priority”
Ross will be chasing his first Lakeside World Title where he takes on Pip Blackwell in the first round on the 4th of January with coverage starting from 1800.
