Gerwyn Price has vowed no more nude shoots… just naked darting ambition.
The Welsh wonder got all his kit off for a newspaper picture during the World Championships before narrowly losing out to Michael van Gerwen.
But now the fiery Iceman is determined to just let his darts do the talking as he prepares for his Premier League debut in Dublin against Peter Wright.
He revealed: “There will be no more nude pictures for newspapers. Maybe if I win the Premier League I might rip my shirt off for a celebration, you never know.
“But seriously I’m not in the Premier League to make up the numbers. I’m here on merit as World No 12 but I want to win it.
“I want to play well and show people what I can do. I don’t care who I am playing, I want to win 7-0 against everyone.
“Four years ago I was in Q School and now I’m in the Premier League. It’s been a steep learning curve and I’m gradually getting better all the time.
“I always set myself targets. I’ve aimed to be in the top 32, top 16. Now I want to be in the top 10, then top eight.
“I’m playing pretty well and I’m confident. I’m probably a bit more anxious than usual to play in the Premier League, but it’s also excitement to be part of this tournament.
“Peter’s a tough start for me but to be fair every match in the Premier League is going to be hard, there’s no easy weeks.”
Price, 32, is spearheading a new generation of clean-living oche stars and knows that could help him go all the way to the top.
He added: “I don’t drink and I look after myself. The Premier League is hard work and tiring so I hope that will help my stamina as the weeks ago by.
“I’m not worried about who I play, I believe in myself and the progress I am making. The Premier League will help me further and I’m determined to make an impact.”
