Gerwyn Price won a dynamic Players Championship title double this weekend as the Welshman claimed the latest two Pro Tour events in Barnsley.
Price, who is unbeaten in his first three matches in the Unibet Premier League, continued his superb run of form by scooping £20,000 at the Barnsley Metrodome.
The Iceman takes on Luke Humphries in the PL on Thursday and said: “The last couple of weeks I've been playing really well but falling to better players sometimes.
“On Saturday I held it together, averaged 109 and got a good win. I've given up my social media so my mind is clear - I don't hear the rubbish.
“Ever since then I've been playing brilliant, so I advise anyone on social media to just give it up if you want to play well.
“This time 12 months ago, everything was the other way round, I was playing rubbish and couldn't win a game on the ProTour, but winning breeds confidence.
“This weekend I proved to myself and a lot of people that I can play top quality darts.
“It's all a case of having confidence in myself, believing in my ability and I think I played phenomenally well all day.
“I'm happy with my consistency over the weekend and I couldn't have asked for a better way to win it than with a 170.
“Hopefully now I can carry this form into the Premier League and I can keep performing to this standard and win another TV title along the way.”
The reigning Grand Slam champion produced a series of dominant displays en route to the title and notably averaged 109 in denying red-hot German Clemens in the final on Saturday and then Ricky Evans 24 hours later.
There was also another glut of perfect nine-dart legs, including from Danny Noppert and Scott Baker.
