The 2010 BDO BRITISH OPEN, presented by EYevents and sponsored by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, brings together the very best BDO players to The Spa, Bridlington for the weekend of September 18th & 19th – with a Friday (September 17th) Men’s and Women’s Blind Draw Pairs kicking-off three-days of the very best in darts from the British Darts Organisation.
Top- of- the-bill is the Men’s and Women’s Singles on Saturday, September 18th which has once again attracted an outstanding field of the top men and women players in the BDO.
DAVE CHISNALL will defend his Men’s Singles title, with stiff competition from reigning World Professional and World Masters Champion, Martin Adams and top stars including Ted Hankey, Tony O’Shea, Darryl Fitton, and many of Yorkshire’s top players, including favourites like Scott Waites, John Boy Walton, the reigning British Pentathlon and England Masters Champion, Martin Atkins, who was runner-up last year, and Dean Winstanley who has enjoyed an outstanding year.
Dean is the reigning German Open, England Open and Belgium Open Men’s Singles Champion, and was runner-up in the England Masters. His reward is that he will be No.4 Seed in the BBC televised Winmau World Masters in October and then go on to make his debut in the Lakeside World Professional Darts Championship next January.
The Men’s Singles Champion will receive a cheque for £3,000 plus trophy.
BDO and Women’s World No.1 DETA HEDMAN, who won the British Open Women’s Singles for the first time last year, will also have tough competition from Trina Gulliver, Julie Gore of Wales, and Yorkshire’s Karen Lawman among many others.
The Women’s Singles Champion will win a cheque for £800 plus trophy.

10AM: Toe-the-oche MEN’S & WOMEN’S SINGLES
7PM approx: Conclude
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 19th
10AM to 11AM: Register MEN’S & WOMEN’S PAIRS (Entries only accepted at the venue on the day)
12 Mid-Day: Toe-the-oche MEN’S & WOMEN’S PAIRS
All matches will be played on WINMAU BLADE 3 dartboards, endorsed by the BDO and used in all major tournaments.
Non participating spectators are welcome for an entrance fee of £6 per person on Friday, and £7 per person on both Saturday and Sunday.
