Premier League Night Two – Price Strikes in Antwerp

Price Powers to Night Two Glory in Antwerp

A night of defining moments, where handling the pressure and taking your chances proves what it truly takes to win a weekly title. Gerwyn Price handed Michael van Gerwen his first defeat of the 2026 BetMGM Premier League season, producing a relentless display to secure Night Two honours in Antwerp.

In front of more than 10,000 fans at the AFAS Dome, a venue staging the Premier League darts for the very first time and Price rose to the occasion. A 6-3 victory over the Night One winner halted Van Gerwen’s early-season momentum, delivered maximum league points and secured the £10,000 nightly bonus.

A masterclass in control and precision, underlined by a 104+ average at the defining moment.

Michael van Gerwen 6-2 Josh Rock
Jonny Clayton 6-4 Stephen Bunting

Semi-Finals

Van Gerwen tightened up in the last four, seeing off Littler 6-4. Winning three of the final four legs, he controlled the closing stages to book back-to-back nightly finals.

Price, meanwhile, survived another decider. A 6-5 win over Clayton underlined his resilience, backing up his strong Players Championship form earlier in the week with another composed big-stage performance.

The Final

Price started fast. A break of throw, a hold, and immediate scoreboard pressure.

Van Gerwen responded in trademark fashion, firing in back-to-back ton-plus finishes of 167 and 160 to level at 2-2. The contest ignited.

But from there, Price took control.

Three consecutive legs moved him 5-2 ahead, his scoring power forcing errors and stretching the Dutchman at key moments. Although he missed three match darts to allow Van Gerwen to close the gap to 5-3, there was no late collapse.

A fourth 180 of the match set the tone in the next leg, and double 20 sealed the deal. 6-3. Night Two winner.

“I started off really slow this evening, I felt really edgy,” Price admitted afterwards. “Losing last week, you want to get off to a good start.

“I know I’m playing well, but you still have to do it on the big stage. Gian had a shot at the bull to beat me, and I could have been going home.

“I think I’m playing some of the best darts I’ve ever played. I’m just not winning tournaments but that will come.

“If I keep playing the way I am, there’s no way I won’t pick up a major title.”

Based on this performance, that belief appears more than warranted.

League Picture

Despite the defeat, Van Gerwen continues to set the early pace after reaching back-to-back finals in Newcastle and Antwerp. His wins over Rock and Littler ensured another strong points haul.
