Kurt Parry Signs New Three-year Contract with Red Dragon
Welsh darts prodigy Kurt Parry has signed a new three-year contract with Red Dragon Darts.
Whilst his eventual aim is to turn pro, 23 year-old joiner Kurt’s immediate ambition it to gain a tour card by finishing strongly in the PDC Challenge and Development tours, or by qualifying through the PDC Q School programme.
“Although I have been playing since I was 15, I’m still learning the game and feeling my way,” says Kurt. “Red Dragon has been incredibly supportive. Not only has the company backed me directly, it has also helped me go on to secure additional sponsorship from ZWA Sports Management and Modus.”
Kurt, whose biggest achievements to date include a semi-final appearance in the 2014 World Youth Championships and a nine-darter in the same competition the year before, has also worked with Red Dragon’s technicians to develop his own design darts.
“Red Dragon’s experts have refined and developed my darts from the initial design, finding the perfect grip for the way I throw,” he says. “Red Dragon is one of the biggest and best-known names in the global game, and being able to benefit from their investment in grass roots, next-generation players is fantastic.”
Simon Hall, head of marketing at Red Dragon Darts, added: “Kurt has so much talent its frightening. You only have to look at what he has achieved in the World Youth Championships. With a bit more self-belief to add to his talent and dedication I am convinced he will go on to be one of the stars of the game.”
