Warner Is Solid As Steel
Adam Warner continues to impress and get better all the time and after making a few finals recently he took the latest Steel City championship with a thrilling final win over the experienced Hellraiser himself Bob Pinder.
Adam was quick into it with a victory over Trevor Tye 4-1 in round two after Trevor himself had beaten Patrick Finney in the 1st round. Adam then threw very well to see off Russ Simmons 4-2 in legs in round 3 with Russ himself having a brace of wins earlier against Steve Naisbit and John Smethurst before Adam was then victorious against Chris Markham in the semi final. Chris' path had been forged by a 1st round win over Owen Cubitt including a 128 out. He then beat Lee Wolfe before victory 4-1 against Lester 'Big Red' Bowers in the last 8 to set up the semi final. Bob's path to meet Adam in the final had Mick Hulley in his path with a maximum and a 114 checkout Bob went through. He had a win over Sam Fordham 4-1 after Sam had seen off Ben Dulley. Bob Pinder then produced a masterclass of tungsten with legs of 13, 14, 12 including 2 x 180s to beat Lee Cushworth in the semis with Lee hitting a 15 himself and Lee had recorded wins over Paul Brittle and Greg Beard to find himself in the semi finals. Adam Warner took the chances when they arrived in the finals and held throw very well in the final after leading 1-0 to then go 2-1 down and lead 3-2 before edging home 4-3 with 3 legs under 20 darts. He really is starting to make a name for himself on the local darts scene and he looks to have the potential to go even further. Bob had 13 & 14 dart leg in the final but just couldn't shake off Adam, as we have seen the Hellraiser will be back and still has plenty more win left in him. With the next round on the 29th of April the competition is hotting up.
