Premier Division:Warwickshire v Glamorgan

With just three more fixtures to play in the BDO Inter County Championships Warwickshire have a very healthy third place in the premier division table and could very well consolidate that position this coming weekend when they entertain Glamorgan at the Hen Lane and District Social Club, Holbrooks, Coventry, CV6 4DS.

Going into the fixture Warwickshire are on 129 points just three short of third placed Lancashire who have what would appear to be a relatively easy fixture away to bottom of the table Northamptonshire, while Glamorgan in fourth place are ten points behind their hosts and a win for Warwickshire would certainly cement their number three position.

Selected to play for Warwickshire are Men’s ‘A’:- Antony Allen, Dave Honey, Prakash Jiwa, Steve Hine, Jamie Atkins, Kevin Dowling, Nigel Heydon, Noel Grant, Ian McFarlane, Steve Giddings, Rob Hawker, Tom Aldridge, Men’s ‘B’:- James Hykin, Carl Green, Mark Carter, Gareth Braham, Jack Wareing, Robert Comben, Mark Strong, Matty Washbrooke, Karl Reynolds, Simon Fairbrother, Ashley Hurrell, Wayne Mynard, Reserves:- Tom McGlone, Tom Martin, Dave Atkins, Dean Stewart, Jamie Hughes, Charlie Symons, Ashley Hykin, Dave Hill, Women’s ‘A’:- Natalie Gilbert, Angela Jones, Tammy Montgomery, Donna Pinch, Sue Gulliver, Nina Bolt, Women’s ‘B’:- Wendy Adams, Rosie O’Connor, Helen Rigg, Marian Conway, Caroline Pike, Melanie Jones, Reserves:- Denise Keyte, Courtney Hine, Lucy Keyte, Chloe McKivett, Kat Spanswick.

Division One:Sussex v West Midlands

With two thirds of the season completed in division one of the BDO Inter County Championships West Midlands, despite topping the table with 139 points, eleven clear of second placed Cheshire and thirteen ahead of third in the table London they do have a difficult final couple of games as they play at home against London and bring down the curtain with an away fixture against Cheshire. Nevertheless West Midlands next fixture this coming weekend is an away game at the Slicks Sports and Bars, 32-34 Marine Parade, Worthing, BN11 3QA where they will take on the local county Sussex which is a top versus bottom affair as the hosts are currently residing at the foot of the table and they are massive 49 points behind their visitors so a big win is envisaged for West Midlands which could help widen the gap between themselves and the chasing pair and at the same time put the pressure on both Cheshire and London when they play against the divisional leaders.

Selected to play are Men’s ‘A’:- Gavin Baker, Scott Baker, Michael Baker, Trevor Brennan, Shaun Carrol, Matthew Coleman, Justin Evans, Gareth Johnson, Ian Jones, Stephen Jones, Glen McGrandle, Paul Wells, Men’s ‘B’:- Danny Coyle, Tom Bissell, Mark Craddock, Adam Edgar, Scott Hall, Matthew Moore, Neil Pointon, Shane Price, Dave Redding, Jamie Rollinson, Mark Rollinson, Gaz Watts, Reserves:- Martin Greenwood, Kevin Harris, Kirk Harrison, Ben Hollowood, Women’s ‘A’:- Cheryl Alcock, Gemma Barrett, Shannon Hall, Kath Jenkins, Jacqueline Maiden, Kat McLean, Women’s ‘B’:- Lynne Reynolds, Sarah Roberts, Shellbie Simmons, Stella Sims, Sophie Singh, Heather Wright, Reserves:- Debbie Davies, Kelly Doleman, Claire Hobbs.

Division Three:Derbyshire v Wiltshire

After kicking off the season in division three of the BDO Inter County Championships with two successive defeats Derbyshire then got their act together and have now won the last four games to lift them away from the foot of the table into a more comfortable fifth place with 121 points.

This coming weekend at the Pinxton Village Hall, 3 Kirkstead Road, Pinxton, NG16 6NA Derbyshire will be hosting next to bottom of the table Wiltshire and with them being eighteen points short of a promotion place need a big win, especially as in their penultimate game they play away to divisional leaders Clwyd and end their campaign with a home tie against third placed Cleveland.

Christian Bradshaw, Henry Coates, Lee Cropper, John Elliot, Matt Faulkner, Chris Grogan, Ben Holmes, Richard Hughes, Steve Soar, Lee Stanley, Paul Williams, Reserves:- Dan Ford, Allen Hurt, Keith Lodge, Andy Radford, Paul Redfern, Alan Robinson, Michael Smith, Brian Snell, Women’s ‘A’:- Rachel Bird, Jane Densley, Rebecca Hoyland, Rose Mort, Joanne Oldershaw, Jackie Sweet, Women’s ‘B’:- Rachel Ayres, Terri Bellamy, Nicola Fletcher, Emily Jones, Marie Leahy, Jennifer McCormick, Reserves:- Amy Eyre, Dee Fenn, Sara-Jane Harrison, Vicky Henshaw, Sammie Marshall, Carol Western, Claire Wheeler.

Division Four:Shropshire v Breconshire

After three successive defeats in division four of the BDO Inter County Championships Shropshire will be hoping to return to winning ways this coming weekend when they play hosts to Breconshire at The Royal, Delaware Avenue, Albrighton, Wolverhampton, WV7 3BW.

Currently Shropshire with 107 points are placed seventh in the table and their opponents are three places above them but only seven points to the god so the fixture is definitely winnable.

Last season playing on Breconshire’s board Shropshire returned with a 19-17 victory, a repeat or something even better than that would certainly be a confidence booster for the remaining two fixtures at home to Isle of Wight and away to Northumberland.

Lining up for Shropshire will be Men’s ‘A’:- Dan Astbury, Eddie Austin, Jamie Barrowman, Richard Bowen, Reece Colley, Martin East, Brian Hickman, Andy Jervis, Gavin Moreton, Richard Parker, Martin Price, John Speed, Men’s ‘B’:- Jon Blakemore, Andi Chatter, Chris Fox, Mike Hampson, Alex Howells, Robert Pierce, Neville Quinton, Martin Riggs, Billy Robbins, John Simms, Robert Trumper, Andy Vellender, Reserves:- Mark Bayliss, Paul Bromley, Phil Mayo, Simon Pritchard, Women’s ‘A’:- Julie Griffiths, Becky Harris, Cally Jones, Sue Lane, Michele Pritchard, Marie Riggs, Women’s ‘B’:- Jenna Ball, Rachael Mooney, Caroline Powell, Deana Sheldon, Helen Walmsley, Tammy Walmsley, Reserves:- Suzie Barnham, Sophie Fawcett, Allison Gallagher, Kim Hewitt, Rose Jenks, Cheryl Owen, Julie Pugh.
