ADC Global Championship Heats Up as Final Eight Are Confirmed

All the drama, all the moments - Here's your rundown of the biggest championship in amateur darts!

Stage 1 of the ADC Global Championship delivered a fast-paced and fiercely competitive opening round, as 56 players battled through an eight-group round-robin format for a place in the last 32. Each group saw seven players face off in best-of-seven matches, with only the top four progressing to Stage 2. Several players set the tone early with dominant group-winning performances, including Johnny Haines, Tom Sykes and Ricardo Ham, all of whom topped their groups with unbeaten records. Elsewhere, tight battles for qualification highlighted the depth of talent across the field, as experienced campaigners and emerging names alike secured their progression. With the group stage complete and 32 players advancing, the tournament now shifts into knockout mode, where margins tighten, and every match carries added weight.

Stage 2: Where the pressure rose and the final eight were decided

Stage 2 of the ADC Global Championship raised the intensity once again as the 32 remaining players were split into eight knockout groups, each featuring four competitors battling in a double round-robin, best-of-seven format. With only the group winner progressing, consistency under pressure was essential, and across four days of play, the field was narrowed to just eight players heading through to Finals Night.

Group 1: Johnny Haines continued his excellent form from Stage 1, topping his group with composed and clinical performances to secure his place in the final eight.

Group 2: Tom Sykes produced one of the standout displays of the round, powering through his group unbeaten and underlining his status as one of the tournament’s form players.

Group 3: Gary Stone navigated a competitive section to finish top, delivering when it mattered most to book his spot at Finals Night.

Group 4: Shane Turner showed his class and experience, winning five of his six matches to dominate his group and move one step closer to the title.

Group 5: Robbie Martin impressed with a series of crucial victories, edging a tightly contested group to keep his championship hopes alive.

Group 6: Jonny Barnes came through a demanding group with consistent scoring and strong finishing, doing enough to top the standings and advance.

Group 7: Jack Tweddell rose to the occasion in a highly competitive group, producing key performances to emerge on top and secure progression.

Group 8: Niall Culleton capped off the round by winning Group 8, maintaining his strong tournament run to claim the final place in the last eight.

With the eight group winners confirmed, the ADC Global Championship now moves towards its decisive stages, where every leg, set and moment will count as the remaining players battle for the title on Finals Night on Sunday, 4th January 2026.
