Bartley Green Social Club and the Raven are both vying for honours in the premier division of the Harborne and District Winter League. Each of them recorded wins in their latest fixtures, Bartley beating Hobsons Choice 7-2 and Raven being awarded a 5-4 win against Ladywood Social, who failed to turn out.
In division one Pheasant defeated Village Stump 6-3, while New Inns were kept in touch with the top as they were another team to be awarded a 5-4 win due to Stonehouse Flights not turning up.
In a rearranged Wadsworth Cup quarter final game Punchbowl had a 6-3 victory over the Highlander and will now meet the Raven at the Hillyfields in the semi-finals on June 10th.

The preliminary round of the Knockout Cup was on the agenda for the Harborne 401 Summer League. Stonehouse Flights chalked up a comfortable 8-1 win against Stonehouse Ladies. Midland Red will join Stonehouse in the draw for the next round following their 6-3 success over the George.

Mark Hollyoake’s hopes of retaining the Minworth Social Individual League title suffered a setback this week. After a fine 3-0 win over Wayne Harrison, Hollyoake then went down 2-1 to Ricky Lawrence. In an earlier game Lawrence had found himself on the wrong side of a 3-0 result when Lesley Newcombe was his victor.
Carl Betteridge is currently in pole position on 31 points from seven games, his latest encounter being against Tony Pedley, which he won 3-0. Hollyoake is second six points adrift but with a game in hand.
Top shots of 180 were hit by Gary Mills, Mark Hollyoake, Derek Mountjoy (2), Ian McFarlane (2), Richie Shenton, Lance Thompson and Harvey Tebble.

Leader of the Sportsmans Rest Double Top League is Peter Allen with 65 points from 16 games. This week Allen played four of his fixtures, he beat Clive Vickers and John Ainsworth 3-0, Ricky Lawrence 2-1 but lost a vital game against seocnd placed David Platt 2-1. Platt is now seven points behind Allen having played two game fewer.
On th maximum trail this week were David Platt, Kevin McGuigan, Pat Koyce, John Ainsworth, Trevor Frost, Peter Allen and Paul Cummings. Derek Fardon produced a magnificent 160 finish despite losing 2-1 to Tony Pedley.
In the preliminary round of the Singles Knockout, Ricky Lawrence hit two maximums in his 3-0 win over Gordon Clinton.

A 6-2 win against the Plough and Harrow has put the Red Lion ‘A’ on five points, joint top of the Longwood League with the Queens Head, who could only manage a 4-4 draw in their home game with bottom of the table the Gate. Third placed White Lion recorded the best win of the week, a 7-1 success against the Red Lion ‘B’.
