Midland Red, challenging for honours in division one of the Harborne 401 Summer League, hit top form in their away game against Hillyfields as they hammered them 9-0. Poor consolation for the hosts was a 160 break by I.Jacques. Other joint leaders, the George, also had a convincing win, a 7-2 home success over the Greenlands.
Hobsons Choice are chasing the division two title, they recorded a cracking 8-1 victory at Bartley Green Social Flights, while Bugle Horn beat Coronation Club 7-2 and Golden Cup snatched a 5-4 win at the expense of the Avenue Social.
Cock Inn lead the field in the third division. They proved to be far too strong for Stonehouse Ladies as they chalked up a 9-0 whitewash with L.Emery having a 152 break. Second placed Harborne Stores lost no ground as they strolled to a similar 9-0 win against Raven Ladies, it was definitely not a ladies night.

A 3-0 win over Barry Salter has seen Rob South take over as leader of the Bass Breweries sponsored Minworth Social Individual League. South on 100 points is just two ahead of his nearest rival Tony Randell who has a game in hand. Randell, who played two games was in fine form. Against Andy SmithRandell prodeuced a thirteen darts leg in his 3-0 win. He then went on to win 2-1 in his fixture with Stev Parry and notched a maximum in the process.
Gary Mills is in the third spot. He, like Randell has 98 points, however, he has one game in hand on Randell and two on South and two more wins from those games in hand would see him take over pole position. Another player in contention is Steve Cain. Despite being fourth in the table Steve is only three points adrift of the leader.

On the individual scene it now probably goes without saying that Lesley Newcombe was Sutton’s top player, Lesley hitting 140-135 and no fewer than SEVEN scores of 100. For Acocks Green Mo Jennings was the highest scorer with shots of 3x100-2x121 plus 140.
