Finals have most definitely been on the agenda for the Small Heath Summer League. First the Doubles Knockout. After clinching the singles title D.Stokes teamed up with J.Quigley and together they went on to win the doubles crown. Runners up in the competition were K.Maloney and A.Mason.

Attempting to make it a hat trick Stokes was paired with G.Harris in the Mixed Doubles Knockout. It was not to be, the duo met their match in the form of D.Carter and S.Carlin in the quarter finals. Carter and Carlin only progressed to the next round where they made their exit at the hands of K.Stanley (League Match Secretary) and L.M.Foody, who went on to win the title with a final victory over K.Maloney and S.Carpenter.

For the second successive match, Birmingham Vauxhall won 7-1 in the Warwickshire Men’s Super League. A 180 from P.Hackett (Seventh Trap) in the Amber Windows League was not enough to avoid a 9-0 whitewash at home to K.C.A. Lyndhurst’s E.Webster checked out on 144, but again the player finished on the losing side, this time going down 7-2 at the Bagot Arms. One player to hit the headlines and end up on the winning team was Vauxhall Social’s J.Palmer. Palmer scores a superb 177 and his side just got the 5-4 edge at Old Oscott Social.
