With Selly Park, leaders of the Irish Centre Four a Side Ladies League, having a bye this week second place Acocks Green were given the opportunity to reduce the arrears and reduce the arrears is exactly what they did. Playing against Sutton, Acocks Green chalked up a 14-7 victory giving them a total of 48 points, just five adrift of the leaders. A further two points behind are Northfield who won their fixture with Sheldon 12-9. Sheldon now have 41 points and Sutton on 22 are currently bottom.

The Social Club, Welshpool was the venue that hosted the British Inter County Youth Southern League fixture between Montgomery and Radnor and Warwickshire. It was a successful journey for the local team as the Under 18 Male team with wins from Lee McNeill, Dean Taylor, Andrew Shepherd, Anthony Griffin and Jamie Parsons (man of the match - 18.22), won 5-4. The Under 21 female team recorded an emphatic 3-0 win thanks to Viki Handlon (13.12 lady of the match), Vicki Frankin and Yvonne Simpson. Not to be outdone the Under 21 Male side also whitewashed their opponents. Simon Chartlon, Andrew Hodges, Steve Sharpe, Carl Lucas and David Harris (28.63 man of the match) supplying the winning margin.
Completing a tremendous weekend fixture Andrew Facer, playing in a reserve tie with Paul Jones, won 2-0 with a 16-05 average.

Finals have most definitely been on the agenda for the Small Heath Summer League. First the Doubles Knockout. After clinching the singles title D.Stokes teamed up with J.Quigley and together they went on to win the doubles crown. Runners up in the competition were K.Maloney and A.Mason.
Attempting to make it a hat trick Stokes was paired with G.Harris in the Mixed Doubles Knockout. It was not to be, the duo met their match in the form of D.Carter and S.Carlin in the quarter finals. Carter and Carlin only progressed to the next round where they made their exit at the hands of K.Stanley (League Match Secretary) and L.M.Foody, who went on to win the title with a final victory over K.Maloney and S.Carpenter.

For the second successive match, Birmingham Vauxhall won 7-1 in the Warwickshire Men’s Super League. Following their win over Warwick Town, Vauxhall accounted for Kettlebrook Tamworth in their latest encounter. Vauxhall’s only defeat came in the opening game of the season when they lost 5-3 at home to Birmingham Midland Red. Since that match Midland Red have continued their winning ways having recorded a further two victories.
Reigning champions Coventry Howitzers have not had too good a start to the new campaign, they won the opener 7-1 but since then have lost 5-3 to Birmingham Vauxhall, finished all square with Kettlebrook and won 5-3 at Kingstanding.

A 180 from P.Hackett (Seventh Trap) in the Amber Windows League was not enough to avoid a 9-0 whitewash at home to K.C.A. Lyndhurst’s E.Webster checked out on 144, but again the player finished on the losing side, this time going down 7-2 at the Bagot Arms. One player to hit the headlines and end up on the winning team was Vauxhall Social’s J.Palmer. Palmer scores a superb 177 and his side just got the 5-4 edge at Old Oscott Social.
King Edward 7th and Woodman both had 5-4 wins over respective opponents Aston Social and Yew Tree Colts.
