It’s as you were in division one, as leaders Bartley Green Social Club stretched their undefeated run with a 7-2 victory over Beeches. However that’s not the case in division two as Village Stump brought to an end the winning run put together by Stonehouse. The score 6-3.

Warwickshire were unable to finish the year on a high in the Premier Division of the BDO Inter Counties Championship. Playing at home at the Belgrave Sports and Social Club, the hosts took on Hampshire. After going 2-0 up through Mo Jennings and Tammy Montgomery (Lady of the match 19.58), the ladies ‘B’ looked to be on for their third win in four outings. However a 3-0 win from Jo Clements over Chris Bevis in the penultimate encounter was enough to share the points and maintain their unbeaten run.

Mark Flood, with a 27.16 average was the ‘B’ teams top player, the team however finished on the wrong side of an 8-4 result and are left still seeking their first win of the campaign.

The ladies ‘A’ took the lead twice but like their ‘B’ side had to content themselves with a 3-3 draw. Winners were Carol Weston, Lesley Newcombe and Trina Gulliver. Lesley Newcombe took the match award with a 24.64

average. In the final game the mens ‘A’ the odds looked well in Warwickshires favour when in the first half the visitors top three players Colin Monk, Andy Jenkins and Les Wallace all went down to, in turn Alan Sharratt, Tony Brown and Colin Laffar. But after taking a 6-3 lead the last three games all went to the away team and the result was a 6-6 draw. Geoff Wylie at number nine put the six up with a match award 27.33 average. The overall result was a 23-16 win for Hampshire.

In division two West Midlands played away at Buckinghamshire and returned from their long journey with their second successive 24-15 victory. Jean Tibbetts (17.60) was the only winner as the ladies ‘B’ suffered their fourth consecutive defeat. But from there on it was all good news.
