Congratulations to the Malt Shovel ‘A’ who have won the Sheldon and District League’s Denis Houlders Trophy. Shovel’s final opponents were Castle Vale Residents ‘C’ who like their ‘B’ team in the last eight, were unable to stop Shovel’s charge for the title, which they won with a convincing 4-1 scoreline. Man of the match went to Pat Sinnett (Malt Shovel) who hit 100, 139 and recorded a 152 break in the final.
Both semi finals finished at 3-2, Shovel beating Saltley Amateur Gardeners and Vale accounting for Three Horse Shoes ‘A’.
