It was not the same story for Terry Clinton and Alan Mayell, their top shots helped them to 3-0 wins over respective opponents Steve Cain jnr and David Thomas.

Peter Allen continues to rule the roost in the Sportsmans Rest Double Top League. With 87 points from 21 games Allen is seven points clear of his nearest rival Dave Platt, who has played one match less than Allen. This week Allen had 2-1 wins against Trevor Frost and third placed Pat Koyce.

In the second round of the league’s singles knockout there were comfortable 4-0 wins for Barry Stephens and Steve Cain who in turn beat Chris Forsyth and John Ainsworth. Richie Shenton was made to fight all the way for his 4-3 verdict over Trevor Frost.
