A LOOK BACK IN TIME - ALAN TOWE 02.04.2003
As the end of season draws ever nearer for the Belgrave Social Individual League, the race for the title gets more intense. Leader John Green, on 125 points from 33 games had a 2-1 win over Steve Tarbuck, but as predicted for some weeks Mark Hollyoake, who is now playing some of his outstanding fixtures has moved to within four points of Green with 3-0 wins over Brian Evritt and Derek Fardon and a 2-1 success against Steve Tarbuck. Hollyoake still has four games in hand of Green.
Fourteen maximums were recorded this week, the notable one’s being, Dawn Barnes, who hit the three treble twenties in her 2-1 win over Pete Guesford, while Mick Smith and Andy Hanslow hit two, Smith beating Brian Evritt 3-0 , but Hanslow finished on the wrong side of a similar result against Mick Chater.
