Cup matches have been on the agenda for the Four Oaks and District League. First the second round of the Brian Goodman Cup in which Hill Social were the biggest winners, beating Anvil Nomads 7-2. Close behind were Old Oscott Arrows and Yenton Exiles who in turn defeated Good Hope Flights and Bromford Lions. For Old Oscott WMC J.Higgins hit a maximum and for Yenton Exiles T.Kelly had a nine darts leg.
Old Oscott WMC also go through into the next round with a close 5-4 verdict over Midland Red.
In the first round of the Ken Rust Cup Saints player A.Hunter hit five tons in his best of three legs of 301, 2x100,100 break,121 and 140. Nevertheless, he still ended up a loser as Pint Pot’s G.Redfern with a 160 break, 120 break and 100 took the honours and helped his side to an 8-1 victory. Barn Social won 7-2 against Boldmere Sports and Hardy Spicer had a bye.

Saltley Amateur Gardeners continue the chase for honours in the premier division of the Sheldon and District Winter League, with a close 5-4 success at home to Sheldon Dukes. Three Horse Shoes were the division’s top scorers with an 8-1 result over Castle Vale Residents Association, all other matches finished with a 7-2 margin. On the winning side were Fordbridge Social, Malt Shovel and Toby Jug, who in turn defeated Glebe Community Centre, Hen and Chickens and Iron Horse.
In the first division, leaders Shard End RBL consolidated their position with an emphatic 8-1 win at Sheldon Social. Shard End Social’s M.Powers hit a 180 in his team’s 5-4 win over Stechford Social. In division two, I.Durrington recorded a 160 break for Small Heath Amateur Gardeners, despite his side losing 7-2 at the Gunmakers Arms.

A reminder that the South West Birmingham Clubs Summer League will be holding their annual presentation on Thursday 18th November at Stirchley United WMC, Hazelwell Lane, Stirchley. The evening will get underway at 8-00pm and will include a four a side knockout.
