Peter Wachiuri

Pioneering the way for Kenyan darts with his remarkable achievements on the international stage, Peter Wachiuri has significantly elevated the sport's profile of darts in Africa. His passion for darts quickly developed when he discovered the sport at a local club in Ngong, Kajiado, after a football injury led him to pursue an alternative sport.

Having competed in national tournaments organised by the Kenya Darts Association (KDA), his impressive performance and passion for the sport have earned him recognition on a regional scale. Wachiuri's unconventional and bold playing styles make him a fan favourite, and his journey from a local player to an international competitor made headlines worldwide.

September 2024 saw Wachiuri make headlines by finishing second in the African Qualifier for the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) World Championship. This performance led to an invitation to the Modus Super Series, and in February 2025, he became the first African player to reach a weekly final. With the odds stacked against him at 33/1, Wachiuri ultimately finished second in the final to Scott Campbell.

From humble beginnings to a trailblazing African star, Peter Wachiuri is set to inspire and pave the way for future talent in the sport and is certainly one to watch out for.
