Peter Wright made a fantastic run to the Grand Slam of Darts final last night, but came up against an unstoppable Gerwyn Price.
Wright admitted he had “no answer” to Gerwyn Price as he suffered more final heartbreak.
Snakebite, who beat Glen Durrant in his last four clash, said: “I was just chasing him all the way through. When he missed I was on one hundred and something, if I was lucky.
“He played fantastic all the way through it. Obviously beating Michael and the way he played there, I thought he was trying for the record of 114 average.
“I had no answer. I switched to these darts and I said to myself ‘I think I can get to the final with them and I got to the final’.
Peter has changed to the a less familiar torpedo shaped dart through the Grand Slam of Darts with a custom flight and shaft set-up.
Peter said after the final “I’ve only had a week with these new darts so I’ll be back on the practice board again this week and with a bit of tinkering on with this set-up I’m very confident going into the Worlds!”
